I will not spread
Sweet poison of gossip
From one ear to another

If I were a butterfly
I will not hum venomous tunes
Dogmatic seditious songs
Malice performances in public

If I were a butterfly
I will not mutate into rumour
Spreading a wild fire 
From one city to another

If I were a butterfly
I will not hover for sinful sojourn
In someone else lap
To shatter a happy home

If I were a butterfly
I will portray beauty and love
Symbolising freedom from
Invisible mental cages

If I were a butterfly
I will pulsate my gossamer wings
Spread nectar of goodwill

Not for aggression

But to clear vision of life

Guide me, O Brahma

In all the four stages of life

Like your symbolic faces

Create my humble Vedas

Ignite the light divine

All pervasive supreme

Liberate my soul slave
